My boyfriend and I nabbed ourselves some DC Unlimited figures when we went out yesterday. He got himself a , while I got myself that I've been wanting for a while now.
See that thing at the end of her sword? It broke off while I was trying to detach it like the manual said. I had to stick it on with Blu-Tack temporarily just so I could take pictures.
[EDIT: If any of you have had trouble with the sword, please head over to this entry and comment about it.]

I just found this page while I was looking for answers as to why my sword broke while I was trying to get it into her hand! XD
@Ebony: Wow, talk about your figure defects! Did you have the exact same problem as I did (i.e. the end of the handle breaking off)?
Same problem here. It seems the manufacturers forgot to design the sword so that it could be taken apart in a manner that allows it to be assembled back in one piece again without the use of glue.
Nice to know that you pay for quality! ;P
Wow. We should really complain about it to DC Unlimited then. My boyfriend and I can’t figure out how to contact them about it though.
WOW!~ Seems its not just me… just bought this figure at a department store sale, tried to follow the instructions and guess what…the pommel broke. Thank goodness it was a sale purchase. By the way, any of you guys’ figure can stand properly without having to file off abit of her right hoof? Cos’ mine just absolutely wobbles.
Oh hey, I have that hoof problem too; I just noticed it when I took her out of her glass case to do my usual cleaning.
Stumbled on this page, looking for a solution to my problems with this figure as well. Mine are different. Got the sword apart with no issues, thanks to reading this page first. My problem is a horribly designed tail that will not fit into that hole whatsoever. I have tried for two days to squeeze that thing in there with no luck.
I am either going to give up entirely or make some small cuts into the hole to get the tail to squeeze in. I don’t like the thoughts of having to do that…
Anyone else have this issue as well?
I’m glad to hear that your Tamuura’s sword is okay! I haven’t had any problems with my Tamuura’s tail though.
I can see why the sword would be a problem breaking – when I took mine out, there was a bit of blue paint on the hilt, inside. That is most likely the cause, if its similar to others – as this would add to the ‘stickiness’ of the hilt unnecessarily. A poor design flaw, for sure.
I finally got the tail in, but not before nearly breaking both my thumbs.
My solution was to take a knife to the hole, and make small cuts around the inside. I then shaved (very carefully) a few layers off the tail part, angled in such a way that would allow it to be put in. No easy task even with cuts. I dare not touch the tail now, fearing it might pop out too easily.
Hope this idea will someone else searching for a similar solution on Google.
Ordered one on ebay from Germany. First off the tail didn’t quite fit. I had to create some more space using a scissor. After putting a lot a pressure on the tail it finally went in. Tried to detach the back part of the sword as instructed and it just would not come of. I have various other figurines that don’t have that problem at all. Tried jiggling it a little. This resulted in the sword breaking at the tip like you said. Had to glue it together with superglue. At first I thought it was a forgery but it didn’t look like that at all. All packaging was original and the figure itself seemed fine. Plus its from a german retailer and not some guy from Hong Kong.
