It's official: HBO has greenlighted the A Game of Thrones TV series.

My reaction to this was simply: "OMG!!!" I'm so happy and excited right now that I'm at a loss for words! After watching The Tudors and seeing the quality of that show, I can't help but expect that A Game of Thrones will be no less brilliant. I can't wait to watch it!

HBO also released the very first promotional image for the series, and it looks awesome.

George R. R. Martin responded to this wonderful news by posting related links and a link to dancing Peanuts characters on his LJ. I'm guessing he's just as happily speechless as I was!
