Years ago, I made some icons based on some amazing Japanese cover art for George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. I figured that a post featuring that art is long since overdue!
The series is called Koori to Honoo no Uta (氷と炎の歌) in Japan, which is a literal translation of the original title. Each individual book is further divided into several volumes, probably to make the huge volumes of text easier to translate and read. The books featured in this post were published by Hayakawa Publishing Corporation, with artwork by Noriko Meguro. These were published from 2006 onwards.
