Gorgeous Watercolor Portraits by Kyle Legaspi

No, I this is not a paid post. I’m just very supportive of my talented friends!

I hardly think of myself as a decent model for a painting, so you can imagine my surprise when my friend, Kyle, posted this on my birthday:

Watercolor portrait by Filipino artist Kyle Legaspi-Fortu

She based it off one of my old Facebook profile photos and damn, look at that detail. She even told me to “never wear that jacket again”, because her fashion design school OCD kicked in as she was rendering the denim texture. :p

I’ve known Kyle since elementary, and I’ve always been in awe of her talents. Not only was she an honor student in school – she was also an incredible artist and skilled ballet dancer. But let’s focus on one talent that she’s been honing lately: watercolor painting.

Kyle’s watercolor portraits are always in beautiful shades of pink, blue, and purple, and she always manages to let her subjects’ mood and personality shine through.

I especially love the way she renders eyes and mouths/lips in her portraits. They’re always so expressive!

I’m not sure if she takes commissions right now, but you can check the rest of her art out on her Facebook page or on Instagram.

When I was in 7th grade, my dream's to be able to watercolor like Mr. Mack. 17 years later, I retired from adulthood to be a watercolor artist.Cheers to life and art!#watercolor #watercolorph #artph
