Dabbling in Photography

I’ve always TRIED to take decent photos on my iPhone, but it wasn’t until I bought my friend’s old Olympus OM-D E-M5 last year that I started to get a little more serious about photography.

So far, I’ve discovered that I like taking photos of street cats, buildings and streets, geeky toys, and skylines. People are also interesting, but only if they don’t notice the camera or don’t pay attention to me taking a shot. :p

I don’t always have my camera with me, but I’ve been trying to take good shots with my iPhone SE when and where I can:

And since I take lots of photos of cats, I’ve been compiling all my street cat photos under #ELandGATO (a play on “el gato“, Spanish for “the cat”). A friend jokingly used “EL GATO” as a caption for photos he took of me interacting with a street cat, and I decided to roll with it.

I still have a lot to learn when it comes to around with my cameras’ settings and choosing good subjects for photos, but I will definitely keep practicing!
